A very expressive Bordeaux and good value for money.
Supple - Voluptuous
Château de Jabastas
Set on the left bank of the Dordogne, at a strategic point for those wishing to contemplate the bore – that spectacular wave that flows upstream against the current at the time of the great equinoctial tides – the Château de Jabastas was acquired by Alain Vercouter in 2002. Together with friends from Bordeaux, he had already visited a number of domains, but when he came across Jabastas, he says he "felt something special". Alain Vercouter puts his heart and soul into the task of creating wines that are just like him: warm and generous. The vineyard covers 11 hectares, planted mainly with Merlot.
Arômes de Jabastas
For his white wine, Alain Vercouter preferred to combine the Sauvignon Blanc with a Sauvignon Gris, relatively unusual in Bordeaux, rather than with the traditional Sémillon. The result: a fine, gold robe and aromas of exotic fruits as well as the citrus flavours.
Arômes de Jabastas has benefited from cold skin maceration.
Gold robe, with glints of green.
Bouquet of aromas including citrus fruits, exotic fruits and ripe grapes.
Very lively and well rounded. Fine persistence.
Langoustine gratin or salmon with mousseline sauce.
