Domaine de la Douaix
The Douaix vineyard, which lies in Arcenant, in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits subregion, was established in 2006 by the Moustie family from Belgium. Assisted among the vines by Claude Bourguignon and with the vinification and maturing process by oenologist Pierre Milleman, Mark Moustie and his son Gilles produce an excellent Burgundy wine. They own plots in several appellations and apply the principles of organic farming, although they are not certified. The yields are limited to around 35 hl/ha.
Le Clos des Fervelots
The Pinot Noir plot used to produce this cuvée nestles in a south-facing walled vineyard above the village of Arcenant. A thick layer of clay covering the bedrock raises the quality of the soil to that of a Premier Cru from the Côte de Nuits. The grapes are harvested manually. Only 2,400 bottles of this cuvée are produced and the wine is matured in barrels for 16 months.
Deep cherry robe.
Very expressive nose with aromas of crystallised red fruits (strawberries, red currants).
Full-bodied, fine tannins and an elegant finish.
Rabbit, duck or lamb. Hard cheeses.
